What Happened

State Police have identified those involved in a crash involving three semi-trucks at Hwy 80 in Marengo County, AL on March 9th, 2023. Officers are saying it happened around 12:55 a.m. According to their investigation a tractor-trailer operated by 54-year-old Ernest L Emfinger collided with a second tractor-trailer operated by 55-year-old James Davis. Police say right before this, Ermfinger's truck was struck by one operated by 57-year-old Santiago Sanchez. The cause for the collisions was not stated. It was confirmed that Davis was killed in the collision while Emfinger and and passenger, 65-year-old Donnie Harris, were both hospitalized. No additional details were provided.
