What Happened

State Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed five people at I-10 and Chandler Blvd in Phoenix, AZ on January 12th, 2023. Officials say the incident happened around 6 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed eastbound collided with a car under unclear circumstances. The car was pushed into another semi-truck which created a chain reaction crash. At least one of the vehicles caught fire in the crash and officers say five people were killed. One of the victims was identified as Ryan Gooding. Authorities had no additional information to share.
