What Happened

A child died in a crash involving an overturned semi on Hwy 109 in Scranton, AR on January 13th, 2023. Police sat it happened around 11:45 a.m. The semi-truck involved, operated by 33-year-old Keith Gaynor, was headed southbound on Hwy 109 when, according to authorities, it lost control while navigating a curve in the roadway. Investigators say cargo on the truck shifted, causing it to overturn onto a nearby vehicle. The child that died was an occupant of the second vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Cameron McKittrick and an additional occupant, 21-year-old Tracie Barger, were both injured. Authorities did state how badly they may have been injured nor did they provide details on the condition of Gaynor.
