What Happened

State Police have information on a crash that killed a driver at US 71 in Scott County, AR on April 17th, 2023. Police say it happened around 5 a.m. According to their information, a Toyota operated by 50-year-old Christopher Lawrence was headed southbound on US 71 before allegedly traveling across a center line. Once the vehicle did so, it collided with a northbound tractor-trailer operated by 50-year-old Eric Scott Jones. Lawrence was pronounced dead at the scene while Jones had injuries considered minor in nature. Additional information was not provided.
