What Happened

Arkansas State Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead at I-55 in Mississippi County, AR on September 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Investigators say a tractor-trailer traveling though a constriction zone as a pedestrian was allegedly in or near a northbound lane of travel. Police say the pedestrian was struck by the truck before also being struck by a Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and second tractor-trailer. The pedestrian, identified as 31-year-old James Stripling, suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Additional information was not immediately available.
