What Happened

State Police confirmed the death of a driver in a two-vehicle crash at I-30 in Clark County, AR on January 3rd, 2023. Police say it happened around 4:57 p.m. Investigators believe a tractor-trailer was headed westbound in I-30 as an International van operated by 50-year-old Jesus Salazar-Hernandez traveled along side. At some point, it is believed the van crossed a center line for unknown reasons and collided with the tractor-trailer. The impact sent the van through a median and down and embankment, causing Salazar-Hernandez fatal injuries. An occupant under the age of 18 suffered undisclosed injuries and was hospitalized.
