What Happened

Police have arrested a driver in connection to a fatal semi-truck crash that they believe may have involved alcohol. California Highway Patrol officials believe it happened at Hwy 99 in Merced, CA on March 6th, 2023. According to their investigators, 35-year-old Anthony Carracso was allegedly attempting to pass a southbound semi-truck around 11:23 p.m. They say the vehicle was attempting to pass in a narrow shoulder lane, allegedly at a high rate of speed, before becoming trapped between the truck and a guardrail. They believe this caused the truck to become jack knifed which led to it overturning and traveling down an embankment. The driver of the truck, an unnamed 55-year-old Sacramento man, died at the scene. Authorities arrested Carrasco under suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. Additional information was not available.

If that's not enough information, you might need an Open Records Packet. An ORP is essentially all evidence that the authorities have collected. It usually contains photos, witness statements, measurements, and more and goes way beyond the police report.
