What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Lerdo Hwy in Buttonwillow, CA on October 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:07 a.m. According to investigators, a cement truck headed westbound on the highway is said to have suffered tire failed that caused it to veer from the road. The truck overturned in the process, hitting a tree, power pole and parked vehicles. The driver, identified as 54-year-old Jerome Reed, required emergency extrication from the vehicle and was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional details were not available.
