What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Rd 429 in Orlando, FL on March 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:25 a.m. According to investigators, a Kenworth truck was reversing in a construction zone in preparation of dumping materials onto the roadway. As it did so, it struck an unnamed 22-year-old Sanford man that was walking in a center lane. The man was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. The driver involved was not injured and police did not have additional information to share.
