What Happened

Flagler County Sheriff's Office officials are investigating a crash involving a dump truck that killed at least one person on December 26th, 2018 in Palm Coast, FL. 60-year-old Paul E. Swarts was killed and 12-year-old Pepper Rose Swarts was injured in the accident. Officials say the accident occurred when a van driven by Mr. Swarts allegedly rear-ended a dump truck driven by 60-year-old Antonio Diaz. EMS officials pronounced Mr. Swarts dead at the hospital. Pepper Rose Swarts was hospitalized with serious injuries. Diaz was not injured.
