What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-75 and State Rd 44 in Ocala, FL on October 26th, 2022. Police say the incident involved a Subaru colliding with a dump truck under unclear circumstances. The collision caused both vehicles to veer onto a guardrail and into northbound traffic where they were struck by a Dodge Ram 3500 and Chevrolet SUV. The SUV and semi-truck caught fire in the crash, killing the driver of the tractor-trailer, SUV and Dodge Ram. The driver of the Subaru and a passenger in the Dodge were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
