What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are searching for a driver in connection to a hit-and-run crash at US Hwy 19 in Cross City, FL on March 6th, 2023. Officials say they believe it happened around 2:40 a.m. They allege that a woman riding a bicycle in an outside southbound lane was struck by a tractor-trailer under unclear circumstances. Following the collision, the truck involved left the scene and the woman was left behind, suffering fatal injuries at the scene.
