What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at Danielsville Rd in Athens, GA on January 11t,h 2024. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Reports allege a southbound Amazon delivery truck turned into the path of a northbound Ford Ranger. As a result, police say the two vehicles collided, seriously injured 41-year-old Ford passenger, Helen Edwards. Reports say Edwards was pregnant at the time of the collision, which caused fatal injuries to her child. The driver of the Ranger, identified as 46-year-old Jerry Miller, had injuries considered to be minor in nature, as did Amazon truck operator, 24-year-old Munjae Whatley. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
