What Happened

Indiana State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-65 in Henryville, IN on September 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. Investigators allege a pickup truck headed northbound was hauling an A/C unit the fell from the truck into the roadway. While in the road, officials say an approaching Chevrolet Malibu collided with the A/C unit. Next, an approaching UPS semi-truck is said to have performed a lance change in an effort to avoid striking the Malibu as its operator was exiting the vehicle. The driver, identified as 55-year-old Matthew Shannon Campbell, was killed in the collision. Additional information was not immediately available.
