What Happened

Indiana State Police identified the person killed in a crash at US 20 in LaPorte County, IN on September 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Timothy Hefner was headed eastbound on US 20 when a semi-truck ahead began to slow for a school zone ahead. Police say the motorcycle collided with the rear of the truck, which came to a stop after the collision. Hefner suffered fatal injuries in the collision while the truck driver was uninjured.
