What Happened

A head-on collision between two vehicles at I-80 in Cedar County, IA on January 14th, 2023 led to a fatality. Police say the crash happened around 3:08 a.m. According to investigators, a a vehicle operated by 46-year-old Rebecca McClaine was traveling eastbound in westbound lanes before colliding head-on with a westbound semi-truck. It was not known why the passenger vehicle was traveling against traffic. McClaine suffered fatal injuries in the incident. The condition of the other driver was not stated.
