What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at Hwy 30 in Tama County, IA on September 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:04 a.m. A Ford F-450 is said to have been disabled while parked in a right travel lane prior to being struck from the rear by an approaching semi-truck. The collision caused the semi-truck to become jackknifed and to catch fire in a median. The driver and a passenger were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The Ford driver was not inside the vehicle when it was struck and is said to have sustained minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
