What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured three people at US 56 in Dodge City, KS on August 4th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. According to investigators, semi-truck was headed westbound on US 56 prior to allegedly failing to yield at the intersection with US 400. Police say the truck turned left at the intersection, colliding with an eastbound semi-truck. 33-year-old Damon D. Bahntge, the driver of the first truck, was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. The second driver, 54-year-old William R. Toney, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be less serious. A passenger in the same truck, identified as 52-year-old Donna L. Jones, was also hospitalized with suspected minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
