Victim's vehicle was struck by a semi truck, causing it to spin and hit a guardrail.


What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials released the names of the people injured in a crash on I-70 in Colby, KS on December 27th, 2018. 16-year-old Jackson Buerge was killed when the vehicle he was a passenger in was rear-ended by a semi-truck. The vehicle then spun out of control and hit a guardrail. 42-year-old Justin Buerge, 40-year-old Trisha Buerge and 9-year-old Maxwell Buerge were all hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
