What Happened

State Police have information on a multi-vehicle crash at I-35 in Kansas City, KS on January 20th, 2023. Police say it happened around 6:25 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by Ira Chandler was headed northbound when it suffered a tire issue. The issue resulted in the truck losing two wheels, which struck multiple vehicles upon detachment. Three people involved, identified as 46-year-old Karla Lugo Orrantina, 53-year-old Felipe Armenta-Cardena and 31-year-old Latrinda Pope, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
