What Happened

State Police identified the person killed in the crash at I-135 near Wichita, KS on February 24th, 2023. 26-year-old Rebecca Shields was killed following a crash involving a semi-truck and passenger car. Investigators say Shields was in a vehicle that allegedly crossed a median before being struck by a northbound semi-truck. The semi-truck driver was not injured. Authorities have not released additional information other than that the crash happened around 3:13 p.m.
