What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a teen at Farmington Falls Rd in New Sharon, ME on May 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:19 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban operated by 39-year-old Melanie Greene was involved in a rear-end collision with a recycling truck. A cause of the collision was not stated. A front seat passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as 18-year-old Kaylie Ladd, suffered fatal injuries. Two other children in the vehicle and Greene had injured considered to be non-life-threatening. Police say the driver of the recycling truck was 41-year-old Bruce Sweetser. It was not stated it Sweetser was injured. Additional details have not yet been made available.
