What Happened

Maine State Police are investigating a crash involving a semi-truck at the Route 2 and Upland Trail intersection in Smyrna, ME on January 23rd, 2019. Police say the accident occurred when a buggy driven by a 12-year-old boy crossed into the path of the tractor-trailer and struck it. The buggy had carrying seven other children. Two other the children suffered minor injuries.
