What Happened

Emmet County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Inertown Rd in Bear Creek Twp, MI on March 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:01 a.m. According to investigators, pickup truck operated by 47-year-old Clinton Charles Byard was headed eastbound prior to colliding with the rear of a garbage truck. The truck was parked on the side of the road while its operator, 34-year-old Brent Thomas Irons Jr, was outside the vehicle. The impact pushed the truck into Irons, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Byard was taken to an an area hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information is not available.
