What Happened

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-840 in Rutherford County, TN on August 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. According to police, a Nissan Altima is said to have been westbound before veering from a curve in the road. The vehicle then went into the westbound lanes before colliding with the rear of a tractor-trailer parked in a shoulder. The collision left the Nissan operator, identified as 29-year-old Hytika Johnson, with fatal injuries. The truck was not occupied at the time of the crash.
