What Happened

Nebraska State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at Hwy 183 in Holdrege, NE on March 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to investigators, an SUV operated by 64-year-old Peggy Morten was coming to a stop in order to make a turn when it was struck in the rear by a semi-truck. The collision pushed the SUV into the path of a pickup truck operated by 50-year-old Lawrence Johnson. The vehicles collided, leaving Johnson with injuries he later died from. Morten was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Police say the truck drivers injuries were not serious. Additional details were not provided.
