What Happened

Omaha Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at I-680 and 31st St in Omaha, NE on June 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:37 a.m. According to investigators, an SUV was allegedly traveling westbound in eastbound lanes before colliding head-on with a remit-ruck. The collision caused both vehicle to catch fire. While the semi-truck driver was able to exit the vehicle , the other driver required emergency extrication. Police identified the driver as 32-year-old Vincent Macias, who was taken to an area hospital with injuries he died from. Additional information was not immediately available.
