What Happened

New York State Police are investigating a head-on collision that killed an off-duty police officer on Shore Rd in Pelham Bay, NY on January 17th, 2019. Officials say 28-year-old Brian Kessler was the officer whose vehicle collided head-on with a garbage truck on the two-lane road. Kessler was pronounced dead at the scene. Two city workers in the truck were hospitalized with minor injuries.
