North Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Hayfield Rd in Wade, NC on March 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:47 p.m. According to investigators, an SUV is alleged to have missed a stop sign before colliding with an 18-wheeler. The collision caused the truck to veer from the road and overturn, leaving its driver with minor injuries. The SUV contained five people and police say all five were killed in the crash. One of the victims was identified as 36-year-old Gabriel Antonio Autry. Police named the truck driver as 27-year-old Tyrik Bannerman, who they say was charged with no operator's license.
