What Happened

State Police identified the man killed in a crash in the Tuscarora Tunnel in Dublin Twp, PA on March 1st, 2023. 36-year-old Daniel V. Blashchishin was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. According to investigators, it happened around 2 p.m. They say a tractor-trailer operated by Blashchishin was headed westbound in the tunnel before veering into an eastbound lane for unknown reasons. The vehicle first truck a box truck before continuing forward and colliding with a tractor-trailer. The truck eventually stopped after crashing into a tunnel wall, which left Blashchishin with fatal injuries. The box truck operator, an unnamed 57-year-old Womelsdorf man, had minor injuries.
