Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two driver at I-78 in Upper Macungie Twp, PA on January 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. According to investigators, a privately owned school bus is believed to have veered from the road into a shoulder. After doing so, it struck the rear of a tractor-trailer officers say was illegally parked. The impact struck the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was standing outside the vehicle. Both that driver and the driver of the school bus are said to have suffered minor injuries. They were both hospitalized for treatment. Officials allege the operator of the bus may have fallen asleep at the wheel before the crash. They also allege suspicion of possible alcohol or substance involvement in the crash.
