What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-65 near Armory Dr in Nashville, TN on January 17th, 2023. Police say it happened around 3:45 p.m. Investigators say it began when a vehicle operated by 46-year-old Ross Comeaux was involved in a collision with a guardrail and concrete wall. Emergency services arrived at the scene to treat Comeaux of possible injuries. At some point, Comeaux returned to his vehicle on-foot to retrieve an item from the car. As he did so, he was struck by a northbound semi-truck, suffering fatal injuries at the scene. Authorities expressed belief that neither Comeaux nor the truck driver were impaired.
