Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Dumas Hwy in Amarillo, TX on September 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:35 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was headed northbound, approaching a vehicle parked on the side southbound shoulder. Standing next to the parked vehicle was 57-year-old Allen Gonzales. Officials say as the truck approaching, it struck Gonzales, pushing him against the other vehicle and causing fatal injuries. The truck involved did not stop to render aid, according to police, before leaving the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
