What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at TX 242 in Montgomery County, TX on August 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Santa Fe operated by 32-year-old Justin Smith was headed westbound on TX 242 when it veered into an eastbound lane and struck a Toyota Corolla operated by 31-year-old Anjelika Hernandez. Hernandez was seriously injured in the collision while a 13-year-old passenger suffered less seriously injuries. Smith was not injured and officers recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Assault.
