What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at I-45 in Dallas, TX on August 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:32 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Dart operated by 43-year-old Billy Joe Hernandez was northbound before suffering a tire blowout that caused the vehicle to lose control. The vehicle is said to have first struck a guardrail before swerving across traffic lanes into an opposite side guardrail and making contact with a commercial truck following the second guardrail strike. Officials say Hernandez suffered serious injuries while the truck operator was not injured. Additional information was not available.
