What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-20 in Martin County, TX on December 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:58 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 57-year-old Hector Ballesteros was stopped in a shoulder as a Chevrolet Silverado approached. The Silverado was headed eastbound in an outside lane as the tractor-trailer began attempting to return to the road. The Silverado collided with the truck in the process, leaving its driver with fatal injuries. The driver was identified s 33-year-old Brandon Robert Morrow. Ballesteros was uninjured and officers recommended and/or issued an Unsafe Start from Parked Position charge.
