What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that killed a child at Castle Dr and Miles Rd in Garland, TX on September 9th, 2022. They believe it happened around  4:49 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 30-year-old Jeremy Spencer was headed northbound on Castle Dr as a Volkswagen Taos operated by 37-year-old Brittney Moran was headed southbound. The Dodge is said to have crossed into the path of the Volkswagen, the two colliding head-on. The crash caused the Dodge to catch fire and left a 13-year-old child in the Volkswagen with fatal injuries. Moran and a second child, age 14, were both seriously injured. Spencer is said to have suffered minor injuries and officers recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Manslaughter with Vehicle charge.
