What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-45 in Hutchins County, TX on October 21st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:20 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Expedition operated by an unnamed 38-year-old Lancaster man was headed northbound before colliding with a pedestrian. The pedestrian was also struck by a second vehicle operated by an unnamed 54-year-old Dallas woman as well as a third vehicle that fled the scene. The pedestrian, identified as 52-year-old Carolyn Austin, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
