What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-35E in Lancaster, TX on November 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:06 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma operated by 38-year-old Cesar Chavez Cornejo was headed northbound on I-35E when it veered from the road for uncertain reasons. It first hit a road sign before continuing northbound and hitting a mailbox. The vehicle entered into a ditch before coming to rest against a power pole and trees. Cornejo was ejected from the vehicle in the incident, suffering fatal injuries as a result. Police had no additional information to share.
