What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two drivers at State Hwy 73 in Bridge City, TX on January 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:48 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by 40-year-old Bobby Wiley was headed eastbound on FM 1442 at a turn lane. At the same time, a Dodge Journey operated by 46-year-old Christine West was going southbound on Hwy 73. Officers allege the Ford ran a red light and collided with the Dodge in the intersection. West is believed to have had serious injuries and Wiley less serious injuries. Officers allege suspicion of possible alcohol involvement in the crash.
