What Happened

Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety have information on a crash that injured two people at FM 1004 near Buna, TX on March 8th, 2023. Police say the incident involved a Ford pickup truck operated by 70-year-old Christopher Martin was stopped and its attached trailer was partially in the road as trashcans were being unloaded. That is when police say a Toyota Tacoma side-swiped the truck and trailer, causing the bed of the truck to tear off into a an opposite lane of travel. It struck a passing Dodge operated by 19-year-old Karlye Bayer. Both Martin and Bayer were taken to area hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
