What Happened

Travis County Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Lakehurst Rd in Travis County, TX on August 4th, 2023. Police believe the incident happened around 1:34 a.m. and involved a southbound Jeep Wrangler. Officials allege the vehicle lost control while navigating a curve in the road. It was suggested by officials that while attempting to slow or stop the vehicle, its brakes locked up, causing it veer from the road and overturn several times.  The driver, identified as 18-year-old Christopher Peeler, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
