What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at I-10 in Guadalupe County, TX on November 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Genesis headed eastbound on I-19 before allegedly attempting to pass a Ford Mustang ahead. Officials say as the Hyundai was passing, the Ford allegedly crossed into its path, causing the Hyundai to veer from the road. The Hyundai is said to have gone into a skid before colliding with a cable barrier. Officials say the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 25-year-old Cody Barton, was seriously injured. A 27-year-old passenger was also seriously injured, reports say, while a 23-year-old passenger has minor injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
