What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured two people at I-45 in Shenandoah, TX on August 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:59 p.m. According to investigators, a school bus was northbound on I-45 as two vehicles ahead were stopped in traffic merging from an on-ramp. Police allege the bus failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of Nissan Altima operated by 41-year-old Courtney Lenall Patteson, pushing it into the Mercedes-Benz 300 stopped in front of it. Officials say the driver of the Mercedes-Benz had minor injuries while Patteson was more seriously injured. Police say the were no reported injuries from either the bus driver or any of the students aboard at the time. Additional information was not available.
