Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at Garland Ave in Garland, TX on September 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:43 a.m. According to investigators, a Chrysler 200 was allegedly westbound before possibly missing a red light and colliding with a tractor-trailer at the intersection with Leon Rd. The collision pushed the vehicles from the road into a utility pole. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Dejanae Buchanan, suffers fatal injuries. The driver, an 18-year-old woman who was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries. A 5-year-old passenger had less serious injuries, according to police.
