What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a deputy at Hwy 130 in Travis County, TX on January 31st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:46 on ice covered roads. Investigators are saying a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy was at the scene an unrelated incident as an 18-wheeler approached. The truck is believed to have lost control on the icy roads and slid, striking the deputy. The deupty was punned under one of the tires of the 18-wheeler and required emergency extrication. Once free, the deputy was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  Additional information was not available.
