What Happened

A pedestrian died in a collision that police say happened at Hwy 6 in Harris County, TX on December 13th, 2022. They believe it happened around 6:21 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Camry operated by an unnamed 32-year-old Houston man was headed southbound as a pedestrian was crossing west to east. Officers allege the pedestrian crossed outside a crosswalk just before they were struck by the Toyota. The victim, identified as 49-year-old Dina Almendarez, suffered fatal injuries from the crash. The Houston man was injured and not suspected to be under the influence at the time of the crash.
