What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 114 in Rhome, TX on May 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:15 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 78-year-old Jose Morales was eastbound on the highway before turning northbound to cross the westbound portion. As it did so, the vehicle was struck by GMC Envoy operated by 70-year-old Dora Lee Hodges. Police say Hodges was seriously injured. Morales, who they say was uninjured, was cited for Failure to Yield and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
