What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 224 in Hunt County, TX on January 10th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:39 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Rogue operated by 87-year-old Edith Marie Blanton was headed northeast on State Hwy 224 before stopping in a turn lane to turn onto FM 118. Police say a tractor-trailer operated by a 59-year-old Sulphur Springs man was headed southwest on Hwy 224 and collided with the Nissan Rogue, which they allege failed to yield. Blanton was seriously injured in the crash. The other driver was evaluated for possible injuries.
