What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Clay Rd in Harris County, TX on March 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:49 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford C-Max operated by a 25-year-old Katy man was headed eastbound on Clay Rd when it collided with an Infiniti JX35 operated by 73-year-old Claude Lean Crane III. Officers allege the vehicle failed to yield right of way from a private drive while the Katy man stated looking away from the road prior to the collision. The crash left a passenger in the Infiniti, identified as 63-year-old Elaine Frances Viney, with fatal injuries. Crane suffered minor injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
